Synopsis:
Grass-root women are self dependent even they are uneducated. There are also hard working school girls as well who earn their own living. They are east part of Rukum. Specially Taksera, Kol, Kankari, Hukam and Maikot V.D.C. They speak Kham language( Local language).

These
women and school girls are involved in many economic activities like collect
Herbal, Play Dhikur(community based economic institution), go to west part of
village and bring Banana, Orange, Almond and exchange it with grain. They make
wine and sold it from that grain.
One
of their major economic activity is making radhi-pakhi( Blanket made by sheep
wool). The making radhi-pakhi is is not easy it’s process is very long. But
they do it.
After
make radhi-pakhi they go to outside with their radhi-pakhi for in search of
market, because there is no local market.
They
travel from Rukum- Baglung- Gulmi- Palpa- Butwal districts for in search of
market.
After
sold their goods they buy Pots, Threads, Cloths and Sidhra and school girls
also buy educational materials.
After
spent 25 days they return to their village. In this period they spent whole
night under open sky.
